Chinese concessioner Wang Jing promised to reveal the route of his $40-billion plus Nicaragua Canal project last December…then again in January. Now we are into March and there is still no official word about any progress made on the canal plans. Meanwhile, environmental concerns continue to pile as some conservationists predict an ecological disaster.

Does the promised upside of the canal project outweigh the concerns? Will the project bring any jobs to Nicaragua, or just a lot of Chinese laborers? Is the canal project too much of a will-o’-the-wisp to even fret about?

What do people think about Nicaragua’s canal fantasy?

    Nicaragua needs the Canal.

If Ortega fails to give it to us he has let us down heavily.

Besides, the ecological ramifications will need to be studied and to rush out a route would be absolutely Stupid.
